Secret Sauna PDX
a secret worth sharing
We’re Portland’s newest social sauna! Tucked away behind a neighborhood bar, Secret Sauna is a full-on sensory experience - the smells of cedar and smoke, the sounds of fire crackling and rain on a metal roof, the sights of towering trees overhead and flames dancing in the stove, the feeling of warmth, the taste of a cool beverage.
This is the place to bring your friends or find a new one on the sauna bench. Enhance your experience with contrast therapy — the hot and the cold. Take in the heat and steam of our wood-fired cedar sauna and embrace the cold of a PNW winter rain (or our outdoor shower). Hang out in our comfy outdoor lounge area complete with fire pit. Enjoy our complimentary beverages from our hydration station or order a cold beer or glass of wine from Replicant.

how we sauna
1
book your session
Reserve your sauna session online. Choose your session length, date, and time, then select the number of seats you’d like to book if you have multiple in your party.
If it’s your first time booking with us, you'll also be prompted to sign our waiver. (Pro tip: Make the most of your sauna time by ensuring everyone in your party takes care of the waiver before your session starts!)

2
prepare to sweat
Gather your sauna gear! We have changing rooms, heated showers, and a dry place to store your belongings.
Check in with your host (they may be running around but look for the red beanie!).
What you should bring:
-
Appropriate sauna attire that is comfortable to sweat in (bathing suit or athletic wear such as shorts and sports bra)
-
Footwear that's easy to slip on & off (slides / flip-flops / Crocs / etc)
-
Two towels (one to sit on inside the sauna and one to dry off with afterwards)
Missing something? We have towels and slides available for rental, as well as bathing suits for purchase.
Last but not least, don't forget to hydrate - before, during, and after.
3
heat up + cool down
Your sauna session will consist of several self-guided rounds. For many people, this will look like 10-20 minutes in our cedar sauna, followed by a cool down outside. Your body will tell you when it’s time to move.
For those seeking contrast therapy, we provide outdoor showers you can turn as cold as you like. Others will enjoy basking in the brisk PNW air (or rain!).
At our hydration station we provide water, our signature electrolyte beverage, and hot herbal tea. Depending on the time of day, many other options are on offer from Mudd Works Cafe and Replicant’s menus.
